Meet Sara Cushing, Master’s Level Clinical Social Worker
Sara is pursuing a Master’s degree in Social Work from Salisbury University. Sara has worked in several different settings with people from many unique backgrounds, including teens in a long-term group home and individuals with various diagnoses through an ACT team. She was inspired by the opportunity to walk alongside these individuals through different phases of their journeys. Sarah enjoys speaking with people about their struggles and helping them to set goals and build a sense of confidence and hope for their futures.
Sara utilizes a range of evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and mindfulness-based approaches. Her treatment approach is thoughtfully tailored to address the unique needs of each client. Central to her practice is the creation of a safe and supportive environment where clients feel empowered to pursue personal growth.
Sara is committed to fostering an inclusive and affirming environment. She views her clients as the experts of their own lives and believes they should remain in control of the therapeutic journey. In collaboration with each client, Sara works to develop strategies which foster meaningful and lasting change.
Sara Cushing, Master’s Level Clinical Social Worker, is under the clinical supervision of Patrice Forrester, LCSW-C (#16103).
