Meet Madeline Brown, LGPC

Practicing since: 2023

Madeline “Maddie” Brown graduated from Messiah University with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She was inspired to become a mental health counselor by the incredible capacity that humans have for healing, which occurs when people feel truly authentic and supported. She aspires to help clients discover that healing is possible, even after experiences that once felt defining.

Maddie is passionate about helping people create meaningful, lasting change in their lives. She believes healing happens when we feel safe enough to show up authentically, which is why she strives to create a warm, welcoming, and nonjudgmental space where every part of you is welcome. Maddie specializes in working with individuals who have experienced developmental, relational, generational, acute, chronic, and dissociative trauma, as well as those navigating life transitions, identity exploration, and relationship challenges. She is also committed to supporting members of the LGBTQIA+ community and is dedicated to creating an affirming environment.

Maddie is an IFS Level-1-trained trauma therapist as well as an EMDRIA-approved EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapist. She primarily integrates IFS, EMDR, and mindfulness-based practices in her work, helping clients build greater awareness, self-compassion, and connection with themselves. Her collaborative, client-centered approach honors the whole person rather than focusing solely on symptom reduction, helping clients deepen self-understanding and create lasting change.

Maddie’s approach is grounded in compassion, curiosity, and authenticity, and emphasizes helping clients heal from the inside out. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, she works collaboratively with clients to understand the experiences that have shaped them while helping them build a life that feels more connected, fulfilling, and aligned with who they are.

As a client, you can expect a warm, welcoming, and engaging therapeutic relationship. Maddie believes therapy is not about “fixing” people, rather fostering understanding, healing, and reconnection with the resilience they already possess. Her hope is that clients leave each session feeling more empowered, grounded, and connected to themselves.

Madeline Brown, LGPC, is licensed in the state of Maryland (#LGP15453) and under the clinical supervision of Marie Celano, LCPC (#LC5761).
