Meet LeeAnn Gumulauskas, LPC

Practicing Since: 2010

LeeAnn creates a comfortable, safe space to unpack whatever concerns the client is bringing to counseling. LeeAnn utliizes talk therapy with an emphasis on instilling hope. Sometimes hope comes through changes in circumstances, other times through personal growth along the way. When someone does not have enough hope for themselves, LeeAnn holds hope for them. Together she and her client(s) will celebrate the victories, find a way through the barriers, and walk a path of recovery in whatever part of the journey they are on. LeeAnn considers it a privilege when a client allows her into their sacred space. Something amazing happens when someone is willing to look at a challenging or painful place in their life and allow change to take place. She has watched clients experience hope, growth, healing, and freedom in ways they never imagined possible. LeeAnn is a strengths-based, trauma-informed clinician and primarily uses elements of Person-Centered, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing as therapeutic approaches. LeeAnn is offering telehealth counseling services.

LeeAnn obtained her Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education from Bethel College in St. Paul, Minnesota. After a few years of teaching, she switched gears and obtained her Master Degree in Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in Addictions Treatment from the University of Wisconsin-Stout, in Menomonie, Wisconsin in 2010. She was licensed as a Professional Counselor in Wisconsin in 2012, and in Virginia in 2019. LeeAnn has experience working with diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. She has worked with children and adolescents as a day treatment counselor, in-school therapist, outpatient mental health and substance abuse counselor. She has worked with adults up to 85 years old in outpatient individual and group mental health and substance abuse counseling. LeeAnn has training in trauma-informed care, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Multidimensional Family Therapy. She maintains a license in Professional Counseling with a Substance Abuse Specialty in the state of Wisconsin. LeeAnn has resided in several places, including Wisconsin where she grew up, Botswana, Africa, Mexico, Virginia, and Georgia- where she currently lives. She loves to travel, drink coffee, hear people’s stories, and serve hurting people. In her free time, she supports a clergy spouse, goes on adventures with her kids, and is active in community service and development.
