Meet Kimara Runcie, LCPC

Practicing Since: 2011

Kimara strives to build a reputable rapport with clients but takes pride in encouraging a supportive and empathetic atmosphere which is essential for the wellness journey.  Standing on virtuous principles such as therapeutic alliance based on trust, respect, and collaboration supports clients to have a voice, and feel understood and valued from the moment clients enter the office.

Kimara believes that mental health is a forceful state of well-being where individuals can appreciate their potential, learn to cope with stresses in life, be productive citizens, and live dignified lives while serving their communities.  She believes that everyone has the capacity to grow and improve and that the therapeutic process is a collaborative and evolving expedition between the therapist and the client, rooted in empathy, respect, and mutual understanding.  Since all clients are unique, therapy is individualized, specific and tailored to their individual needs, goals, treatment plans, and circumstances. Kamara’s counseling philosophy is grounded in the belief that every individual has the capacity for transformation and/or development.  Compassionate alongside a collaborative therapeutic process can help clients to achieve the fulfillment of their better wellbeing and healing journey.

In her spare time, Kamara enjoys spending time listening to music, watching movies, cooking for family and friends, and indulging in self-care.

Kimara is licensed in the state of Maryland (MD license #: LC15039.)
